Today was our third annual WGN Morning News Food Drive. From 5-10 am, so many of our viewers came out to drop off canned goods for the Greater Chicago Food Depository. 1 in 6 people in Cook County turn to their food pantries every year. Over the past few weeks, I’ve learned quite a bit about the Food Depository and how serious of an issue hunger is in our community. It was great to see some many WGN viewers and sponsors turn out.
