He might only be a rookie, but Cincinnati Bengals running back Jeremy Hill is already making a big impression.

For his celebratory skills.

After a short touchdown run during yesterday’s game against the Panthers, Hill paid tribute to a former Bengals great….

Of course, that’s the Ickey Shuffle, and a pretty darn good recreation. Good times. (h/t @sbnation)

Report: Apple’s giant iPads could be delayed until 2015

0

apple ipadIn case you missed it, the latest Apple rumors say the company is going bigger with the iPad – think 12.9 inches bigger.

But if you were hoping to get a tablet the size of your MacBook Pro this Christmas, you won’t be happy with a report in the Wall Street Journal. The paper says production on the new iPads could be delayed until next year due to demand for the new iPhone 6 models…..

Suppliers of the Cupertino, Calif., company had originally planned to produce the larger iPad in mass volume beginning in December, the people said.

“The top priority for the supply chain is to meet the overwhelming demand for the larger screen iPhones. The output of the 5.5-inch iPhone 6 Plus remains unsatisfactory,” said a person at a supplier. “It would be challenging for display makers to split resources and spend a few months to ramp up production for a new larger screen iPad now.”

Apple is holding an event on October 16 where they’re expected to unveil the new iPad models. You can read the full report in the Wall Street Journal HERE.

PHOTOS: Lunar eclipse draws hundreds to Adler Planetarium

Meteorologist Demetrius Ivory and I were LIVE out at the Adler Planetarium on today’s WGN Morning News – getting a perfect view of the “Blood Moon” lunar eclipse.

It turned out to be the perfect morning for it – the Earth’s shadow passed over the face of the moon right in the middle of our broadcast. The sky opened up, no clouds, and I was able to take a few shots with my iPhone through the telescope of Chicago resident Rich Wagner. Take a look…

CONSTRUCTION HYPERLAPSE!

If only roadwork could always move this fast. The City Of Ottawa replaced a highway bridge in just one night – and they had a video camera there to document the whole thing. From the description

Beginning the evening of Saturday, September 6 and continuing into the early morning of Sunday, September 7, the new Lees Avenue overpass was moved into place using Rapid Bridge Replacement construction techniques.

WATCH: Super Mario World meets Mortal Kombat

What would happen if Mortal Kombat’s Shang Tsung found himself trapped in Super Mario World?

These are the questions that keep the internet up at night. Thankfully, people like NicksplosionFX are around to give us answers!

The stark contrast between these two games is really something. Remember when there was talk about banning Mortal Kombat because it was too violent? Would there be the same outcry if it was released today?

Kids and sports: How to raise a young fan?

So I posted a photo of my son rocking his new reading chair on Sunday morning. On the photo I said…

“So we’ll probably lose by 40 – but at least I’ve got this new chair!”

Of course, we all know the Chicago Bears defeated the San Francisco 49ers in come-from-behind fashion on Sunday night. But really, were most of you expecting the team to win? I didn’t think they would come close.

Looking back at this photo and thinking about my life with sports, I think there’s something I can learn from the joy of my kids. Maybe it’s the years of disappointment watching the Cubs. The Bears haven’t won a championship since I was five years old – one of my earliest memories. I still have a hard time believing the Blackhawks are good again after all of those years.

If you follow me on social media, you know I’m a realist. I try to look at my sports teams objectively without my homer hat on – most of the time, at least. But sometimes I’m just way too negative, to the point where I’d rather shut a game off than watch my team.

Or where I project my cynicism onto a photo of my kid.

That was wrong. I want Oliver, and his sister, to keep the joy they have for everything they do. If, someday, he wants to break down why the Bears will struggle against an upcoming opponent, we can do that. But for now, I want my kids to love watching sports as much as I did when I was a kid – having a dad who’s constantly nagging about the failures of his team probably won’t help that.

I know I’m way ahead of myself (he’s not even two). What kind of relationship do you have with your kids when it comes to sports? Do they watch games with you? What do you tell them about HOW to watch sports?

‘Star Wars’ without music is hilariously awful (VIDEO)

John Williams doesn’t need to worry about losing his job.

The team over at Auralnauts have been hard at work with all kinds of “Star Wars” remixes and mashups over the past few years. Yesterday, they put out a version of the Throne Room scene in Episode IV – WITHOUT John Williams iconic piece of music. The result is something amazing, boring and completely hilarious.

Take a look at the video below and then check out the rest of the Auralnauts “Star Wars” stuff HERE.

‘Our silence is deafening:’ James Brown’s powerful speech on domestic violence

0

“Here we are again….”

Last night, before the Baltimore Ravens took on the Pittsburgh Steelers, CBS studio anchor James Brown gave a powerful pre-game speech on domestic violence. He also talked about being a man, and how it’s time for men to begin a dialogue about what healthy, respectful manhood is all about.

Well said. Watch the video here…
