DOWN IN FRONT: Bears fans block marriage proposal video

Yesterday was Veteran’s Day. The National Football League took time to honor veterans at games across the country.

The Chicago Bears were taking on the Detroit Lions at Solider Field. One serviceman made the day extra special by dropping down to one knee and proposing to his girlfriend. The stadium was ready to capture the moment and put it on the jumbotron. There was a minor problem.

Bears fans.

Roll the video…

It looks like there was one guy in a grey hoodie who had the awareness to see what was happening behind him and stay in his seat. Everybody else – WOOOOOOO I’M ON THE BIG SCREEN!

At least the couple will have a great story to tell. Good times at Soldier Field.

Fan gets Michael Jordan jersey tattoo on his back!

I believe we have found the biggest Michael Jordan fan in the world.

The Front Family Tattoo shop in the Dominican Republic posted this video. It shows one of their latest creations. A full Michael Jordan jersey tattooed on a man’s back. His ENTIRE back.

All of the details are there, too. Even down to the mesh. There’s also a Jordan autograph on the 23.

Check out the video below…

Mr. Bottle Opener rides a roller coaster and it is delightful

Comedian/actor Sam Fletcher has put together the video that absolutely made my day.

It’s a bottle opener going for a ride on a roller coaster.

Really, there’s not much more to say about it, other than you should watch it. It will make you smile.

Here it is. Mr. Bottle Opener rides a roller coaster.

Enjoy!

Kevin Hart is terrified of Robert Irwin’s animals on The Tonight Show

It’s always must watch TV when Robert Irwin brings exotic animals to The Tonight Show.

When you add Kevin Hart to the mix? Even better.

Last night Robert was back with all kinds of creatures. He brought a kingsnake, a falcon, a tarantula and more. Kevin Hart was on hand for all of it and things got wild.

Take a look at the video. It will give you a laugh this morning.

Incredible triple whale breach captured off Nova Scotia coast

Move over double rainbow! We have a TRIPLE WHALE BREACH!

Edmond Giroux was a passenger on Ocean Explorations Zodiac Whale Cruises off the coast of Nova Scotia last month. In the video he shot, you see three whales surface right near their boat. Then, the whales dive below the water, breach the surface and soar into the air.

Tom Goodwin is the owner/biologist with Ocean Explorations. He says the whales swam over to their boat and interacted with them. He also says they did not approach the whales or “wake them up.”

It’s a truly sight that had the passengers on the boat gushing with delight. It’s amazing enough to see it on video. It had to be incredible to see it in person. Check out the video:

Record breaking MAXX FORCE launch coaster coming to Six Flags Great America in 2019!

IT. IS. HAPPENING.

The rumors are true. Our prediction came through. SIX FLAGS GREAT AMERICA IS GETTING A FULL CIRCUIT LAUNCH ROLLER COASTER IN 2019.

Let’s all stop and take a breath.

Today, Six Flags officially announced the addition of Maxx Force, a roller coaster that will launch riders from 0 to 78mph in under TWO seconds. That is ridiculous speed.

After the launch, you will rocket straight up, 175 feet into the air. There you will head into a DOUBLE INVERSION. They’re calling it the world’s highest double inversion. I imagine you’re going to feel some weightlessness up there.

From there you travel straight down and UNDER the launch into a ZERO G ROLL at 60mph! That’s the fastest inversion of any coaster in the word. In total you’ll be going upside down FIVE TIMES.

You’ll be doing all of this while riding in one-of-a-kind custom coaster trains modeled after Formula One race cars.

Let’s take a look at the official MAXX FORCE LAUNCH COASTER promo video and break it down some more after:

To answer some of the other questions enthusiasts might have. I’m told this coaster won’t change any of the pathways in the park. I’m still waiting on confirmation on if that means Hurricane Harbor’s entrance won’t be moving. Let’s take a closer look at this thing from some screengrabs from the video.

First, the ride is going to launch UNDER THE TRAIN.

That will be an incredible feeling launching at such a fast speed with those tracks over your head. Here’s another fun element. It looks like there is a small airtime hill before you hit the big climb into the double inversion. That takes the coaster higher so the ride can double back underneath itself as you come back from the double inversion. Wow.

The park didn’t have a full rendering of the ride layout available at posting time, so let’s try to see just where this thing sits in the park. Take a look at this shot:

You can see the double inversion is going to extend between Raging Bull and Whizzer. The launch is RIGHT NEXT to one of Whizzer’s signature turns! It’s remarkable how they were able to utilize such a small space to fit in a massive ride like this. Check this out:

You can see how the ride weaves around the train with Whizzer off to one side and Demon’s lift hill in the back. Here’s one more:

I just love this. Suddenly the train is going to be a must-ride attraction. You’ll be able to get views of this coaster you won’t be able to see anywhere else in the park!

And finally, let’s go back to those teasers. If you remember last week, I offered my prediction to what was coming to Great America based on all of the evidence. We were pretty darn close to perfect with this one! Here’s the video in case you missed it:

Let’s break down some of the “evidence” in the teasers and see how it panned out in reality!

First, the “175 yards”…..

Obviously that is a reference to the 175-foot double inversion. You can see the two women spinning their arms, which should have been a dead giveaway. Then there was the two seconds…

This obviously relates to the launch. This clue led many enthusiasts like myself to start leaning towards a launch coaster concept. What about that 1,000 SPF in the first video?

The park tells me Max needed 1,000 SPF because he was going to be so much closer to the sun while he was doing that double inversion. LOL.

What about the wave goodbye outside Hometown Fun Machine? I’m told that Hometown Fun Machine is NOT GOING ANYWHERE. Obviously that was put in there to throw us off!

Why did Max run through the park and around the Demon? They wanted him to travel near the double corkscrew, because the 175 foot inversion on Max Force is a double inversion also.

One more thing we all missed – the park was posting every teaser at 3pm on Thursdays. But the final teaser was posted 78 MINUTES EARLY, as in 78mph for the launch! Very clever.

I will be documenting the construction of Maxx Force all off-season long. Follow me here on the website for updates, on my YouTube channel, and of course on my WGN Morning News segments. We’ll have to see when it’s scheduled to open. That date can’t come soon enough.

What do you think about the ride? Excited?

Post Malone and Aerosmith perform together at the MTV VMAs

Leave it to the VMAs – we got to see Post Malone and Aerosmith perform together.

The rapper/singer/songwriter was just in Chicago for a huge show at Lollapalooza. Last night he took home Song of the Year at the MTV Video Music Awards.

He closed out the show with a performance of the award-winning Rock Star featuring 21 Savage. As he walked out onto the stage, Aerosmith emerged to perform their hit Dream On. It’s hard to believe it’s been 25 years since Aerosmith released their video for “Cryin’,” a VMA Video of the Year winner.

After belting out “Dream On,” Post Malone hit the microphone with the band as they broke into their 1975 song “Toys in the Attic.” Not sure why Joe Perry decided to destroy a perfectly good guitar. LOL.

Ariana Grande Carpool Karaoke features harmonies and a trip to Starbucks

Nothing like riding into Starbucks on James Corden’s back. The Ariana Grande Carpool Karaoke is here!

Ariana Grande made her Carpool Karaoke debut last night. The pop star appeared on the Late Late Show with James Corden and hopped into the SUV. The duo busted out her hits like No Tears Left To Cry, God Is A Woman and more.

Topics of discussion included an odd birthday party she had as a kid. It was JAWS themed, which sounds amazing. They also discussed some of the rumors that have been out there, like if she is pregnant (she’s not) and if she demands her staff carry her around whenever she wants.

That led James Corden to throw her on his back and take her into a Starbucks where she ordered, you guessed it, a GRANDE.

You can watch the full Ariana Grande Carpool Karaoke below!
