TV crew filming as driver crashes car into downed tree

NBC Connecticut was on the scene getting video of storm damage when something strange happened.

They were getting some shots of a large tree that had fallen in the road, when out of nowhere, a driver in a Mercedes comes flying into the frame.

The driver slows down at the last moment but continues driving right into the large tree. Either the driver wasn’t paying attention and didn’t notice the very large tree in the road – or they thought they might be able to drive right through it.

It didn’t work.

The driver backs up after the collision revealing some damage to the vehicle. In their Facebook post with the video, NBC says they asked the driver if they were injured and they said they were OK.

The 9 year-old opera singer blew them away and made history.

Each judge on AGT gets one chance to press the Golden Buzzer and send an act right to the live shows. If you’ve been following the season, every judge has already used their Golden Buzzer. That led Simon Cowell to huddle with host Terry Crews – who apparently has authority over such decisions – and come up with another plan.

The judges and the host would hit the Golden Buzzer together and give Victory a well-deserved special moment.

Disabled Marine Corps veteran steps out of his wheelchair and surprises his wife

Greg Machalinski was injured while serving in the Marine Corps. His condition has slowly deteriorated to the point where he is confined to a wheelchair.

Greg and his wife Susan are celebrating 25 years of marriage. The team from For Love Films interviewed Greg about his time in the Marines and his love for his wife. He decided to surprise his wife and get out of his wheelchair – for the first time in a long time – and walk home to her.

“The one thing the Marine Corps teaches you is not only physical strength but mental strength,” Greg says in the video. “You can do things with your body when you think there’s no way possible but you have the discipline to do what needs to be done.”

The video follows Greg as he steps out of his chair and walks home, explaining how important his wife is to him and why. He says Susan has not seen him do a lot of walking and he wanted to show that he is still willing to do whatever it takes for her.

The first Clifford The Big Red Dog trailer dropped yesterday.

Paramount is turning the classic children’s book by Norman Bridwell into a live-action movie. A young girl happens upon a magical pet shop where she chooses Clifford the dog to be her new pet. Shortly after, he explodes in size and all kids of light-hearted mayhem ensues.

I love the Clifford books. I was underwhelmed at the first viewing of this trailer, but that’s when I put together my own focus group at home. I asked my 8 year-old son to watch the trailer with me. His reaction?

“Yes. We are absolutely going to see this.”

So there you go! Clifford is a winner in our house. At least for now.

Bob’s Dance Shop has been posting dance photos and videos in Los Angeles since 2019. The account has blown up recently, especially after one of their recent videos went viral. Take a look at this moment they created – they call it a “Flash Bob.” It’s in two parts…

You walk into the airport and put your bags onto a conveyor belt at check-in. You walk away, get on the plane, fly to your destination, and there is your bag on another conveyor belt waiting for you to pick it up.

How does that happen?

Stephen Linson is an airline ramp agent in Charlotte, North Carolina. He has a TikTok account where he posts videos answering questions like that. His videos give us a perspective of the travel business we normally don’t get to see.

For example, here’s a timelapse video from the cargo hold. You can see all of the different bags coming in, all being stacked up to fit into the available space.

I love social media accounts like this. Stephen is giving us a look inside something many of us would never get to see. I’ll definitely be thinking about the team outside next time I hop onto an airplane. It’s amazing to think how many people are traveling, how many bags are coming through an airport, and yet MOST of the time, they end up getting exactly where they need to go.

Dollywood drone show lights up the sky for Sweet Summer Nights

The Dollywood Drone Show is in the air!

Last week the Pigeon Forge, Tennessee theme park kicked off its Summer Celebration with a pretty neat feature – Sweet Summer Nights. They brought Intel’s drone technology into the park and have created a nighttime show. 400 drones will take the skies to create different shapes, all choreographed to music. There will also be fireworks and some dance performances.

The show will run through July 31st. You can see some highlights of the Dollywood Drone Show in this video…

Paul Rudd pulls one last ‘Mac and Me’ prank on Conan

Conan O’Brien is ending his run at TBS after 11 years. This is his last week of shows before he heads to a new variety show on HBO Max.

Last night he had Bill Hader as a guest, who told a story about a sketch he had written for Saturday Night Live when Paul Rudd was hosting. That’s when Rudd surprised Conan and walked out onto the set.

The two went on to describe the sketch before saying they had the clip to show. That’s when this happened. Again.

Rudd has been a frequent guest on Conan’s show for decades, and over the years he has told Conan that he has a clip to show from his current project, only to show that hilarious clip from the 1988 movie “Mac and Me.” It’s become one of the truly funny recurring bits in late night TV. You know it’s coming, Conan must know it’s coming, but you never know how Rudd is going to work it in each time.

Here’s another update on the Jersey Devil roller coaster construction at Six Flags Great Adventure

We’re getting closer to amusement park season across the country and a few places are going to launch some big rides in 2021.

Six Flags Great Adventure in New Jersey announced the Jersey Devil roller coaster back in 2019. For obvious reasons, the ride wasn’t finished in 2020 like originally planned. When it opens, Jersey Devil will be the world’s longest, tallest and fastest single-rail coaster in the world.

Great Adventure has been posting tons of construction video on their YouTube channel. Yesterday they released their eighth episode of their “Behind The Adventure” construction series. The neat thing about the series – they’re explaining a lot of what the crews are doing as they are putting the ride together. So if you ever wondered what those workers are doing while they’re up in the air on these construction sites, the videos have been very interesting and informative!

Check out the latest update on the Jersey Devil roller coaster. This video was all taken between March 1st and April 9th. It looks like there is still quite a bit of work to be done on this ride. It’s set to open sometime this summer.
